The Book Lovers

BookLoversInvite

The Book Lovers project, curated by David Maroto and Joanna Zielinkska, is a systematic attempt to study the phenomenon of artist novels.

The Book Lovers archive and exhibition series researches the many different ways in which novels are related to an artist's visual art projects. Here, the concept of the novel is not only confined to the space of the book, but it is expanded in a body of works that are interrelated and find their central reference in its narrative.

The next Book Lovers exhibition at Fabra i Coats in Barcleona, features selected pages from A Humument, Tom Phillips's treated victorian novel, and shows the evolution of these pages from the original untreated text, through the earliest versions beginning 1966 to the most recent pages completed earlier this year. Also displayed is the complete Book Lovers archive of artists novels and works by Alexandre Singh and Cally Spooner.

To find out more about the exhibition follow this link.

Please join Tom Phillips at the private view, 18th July 7.30pm

The exhibition continues until 31st August 2014
