The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2021 has just opened and will run until 2nd January 2022. This year the Royal Academy Selector, Yinka Shonibare, has chosen works on the theme of "Reclaiming Magic” and these include this painting by Tom Phillips The Talfourd Tarot.
While we continue to navigate our way through Covid, numbers are restricted and all visitors, including members, are asked to book tickets in advance at the Royal Academy website. The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday 10am - 6pm and the Summer Exhibition bar is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
It’s not too late to visit Grand Folio, an exhibition of works by Tom Phillips for the recent Folio Society edition of Tristram Shandy, open until 25th July at Shandy Hall, Coxwold, York, YO61 4AD

Also exhibited are other works by Tom Phillips that relate to literature by Beckett, Plato, Henry James, Humbert Wolfe, Shelley, Dante, T.S. Eliot, Shakespeare, Cicero, James Joyce and of course, W.H. Mallock.
To celebrate 100 years of the Würzburg Mozartfest the exhibition IMAGINE MOZART | MOZART BILDER displays works by visual artists who have been inspired by Mozart over the past 250 years. including artists such as Klee, Kokoschka, Schinkel and Slevogt, and this 1980 silkscreen print Mozart: from The Composers Series by Tom Phillips

A new exhibition at Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh celebrates the work of the brilliant masterweaver Archie Brennan, who collaborated with Tom Phillips in 1973 on this tapestry Benches After Benches (detail shown above).
The exhibition Archie Brennan: Tapestry Goes Pop! is open until 30th August 2021. For more information and advance bookings visit the Dovecot studios website.
Continuing the Dante 700 celebrations, the exhibition Hyper-Modern Dante: Illustrations of Dante throughout the world 1893-2021, opens on the 14th of April at the Italian Cultural Institute of Belgrade and continues until 12th May.
