Tom Phillips works on the Hamied portrait

Not long before lockdown began Christ’s College Cambridge commissioned this portrait of their distinguished fellow, Dr Yusuf Hamied, a great patron and humanitarian.

There was just time for a few sittings and then during lockdown a friendship developed as Tom and his sitter watched snooker together online.

The portrait was completed in Spring 2021 and now hangs in the college.
