The Music World tapestries began as watercolours commissioned for the 11th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2001 and were made into tapestries by the skilled weavers of Manufactura Tapeçarias Portalegre. They were exhibited at the Galeria Tapeçarias Portalegre in Lisbon between December 2002 and February 2003 as part of the exhibition Woven Music.
